Jack Johnson is a Hawaiian musician known for his work in the soft rock and acoustic genres.
He is surfer and filmmaker too. He makes his own movies/soundtracks. He is also known for organizing an annual event, the Kōkua Festival, at Honolulu , Hawaii, it is the major fundraiser for Kokua Hawai’i Foundation programs , this foundation to supports environmental education in Hawaii.
Jack Johnson was born and raised on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii at 1975, he has 37 years today.
He began to learn how to surf at the age of 5. When he was 17 years old, he suffered a surfing accident, he got more than 150 stitches on his forehead and lost a few teeth lately, this episode would be come the inspiration for one of his songs , called: "Drink the Water".
Jack Johnson graduated from Kahuku High School, at the North Shore of Oahu. He would later attend the University of California, Santa Barbara, and graduate with a degree in film and music production.
Johnson learned how o play guitar at the age of 8 and started songwriting at the age of 12.
Johnson credits his songwriting influences as Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Radiohead, Otis Redding, G. Love and Special Sauce, Ben Harper, Sublime, The Beatles, Bob Marley, Neil Young, and A Tribe Called Quest.
He has five albums, the first one was released in 2001, with Ben Harper as producer. Then his four next albums were produced by himself, since he created his own record label.

ResponderEliminari remember first song i heard of jack johnson was in 2005, "where are the good people going" but i didn't take specially atencion. in the 2008 aprox. i started to like, and now i really like and enjoy his music jajaj
